Build a Gentle Morning Skincare Routine
A short, effective morning routine that protects skin barrier, preps for sunscreen, and keeps things simple for busy mornings.

Morning Routine
A good morning routine does two things: it resets the skin after sleep and it protects it for the day ahead. For most people the routine should be short and effective — a gentle cleanser to remove overnight oils, a hydrating serum or light moisturiser to maintain the barrier, and a broad-spectrum sunscreen. These three steps address cleanliness, hydration and protection without overcomplicating the process.
Start with a low-foaming or cream cleanser if your skin tends to dry; use a gel or powder cleanser if you are oilier. Follow with a water-based serum containing humectants such as glycerin or hyaluronic acid if you want extra hydration without heaviness. Finish with an SPF 30+ of the texture you will actually wear — fluid or gel options are typically easiest under makeup or in humid climates.
Timing and layering: apply the lightest, water-based products first and the heaviest last. Allow each to sink in for a minute if you use concentrated actives, but avoid piling too many layers in the morning — active treatment is generally more effective at night when the skin repairs itself.
Practical tips: keep your routine consistent, use sunscreen daily regardless of the weather, and simplify when travelling. A pared-back routine followed reliably is better than an elaborate one used sporadically.
